Why a Tutor?

Do any of these behaviors sound familiar to you?

Underachievement        

  • Has the potential to perform better in school but does not        
  • Seems to lack confidence, gets frustrated easily, and doesn't take pride in work.     
Needs a Challenge
  • Seems bored with school work, finishes assignments quickly and easily, always seems to want to learn “more”
  • Did not qualify for a Gifted and Talented program could benefit from acceleration and/or enrichment

Unique Learning

  • Has been diagnosed with a learning disability or ADD/ADHD
  • Needs specific organizational tools to follow through on assignments
 

Needs Work on Study Skills/ Reading/ Mathematics

  • Does not know how to analyze and comprehend what he/she read
  • Has difficulty remembering facts and recalling previously learned material.
  • Has great ideas but has trouble expressing them on paper
Needs One-on-One Attention
  • Did not qualify for a Gifted and Talented program but could benefit from acceleration and/or enrichment
  • Learns well, but cannot remember information in the long term and often forgets what he/she has learned (especially over the summer).
  • Not showing progress in academic areas and keeps getting further and further behind each year
