Nancy’s benefit to our family has been two-fold.   She has worked with three of our four children over the years and the results have been quite rewarding.  She approaches each child at their own particular learning style.  Her ability to fragment their weekly assignments into portions that are easily achieved on a daily basis has brought the daily homework grind from trauma to a manageable calm.   Nancy’s knowledge of the Fairfax County Public School system is invaluable.  She is able to provide expert advice that enables parents to discuss options and solutions within the school system.   We are very lucky to have Nancy working with our children.

“Writing with our daughter sometimes gives us problems.  I have been happy with your class, because in addition to the new skills you are teaching, the homework has given her practice writing, spelling, remembering capital letters, and punctuation.  The kind of things that if I had asked her to practice she probably would have resisted. She has not complained once about the homework, and is always charged up to get there and excited about what she learned when she gets out.  I love the fact that the chapter book has been so thought provoking.  We really wanted your program to be about enrichment, and are thrilled that she came to us asking to continue.  We just didn't see that much enthusiasm from her for what they did in most of first grade.  I don't know if it was because she was not challenged or if she was digesting more about the social aspects of new kids, getting along in a larger class and the rules.  We really got nothing more than "she's a delightful child" as far as feedback from her teacher.  Thank you for offering these services to our daughter.”
